Social Program

We've planned some fun social activities for the conference community across the days of the conference that represent the flavors & spirit of Málaga.

Note that all social activities are free for registered participants except that of the Catamaran experience.

Welcome Reception — Sun, June 9, 20:00-21:30

At the Rectorate building.

Address: Av. Cervantes 2, 29016 Málaga (See the map).

Day 1 — Mon, June 10, 20:00 onwards: Visit to the historic center of Málaga.

- Meeting point: Plaza de la Marina (at the tourist office).

- Private guided walking tour in the historic center with a profesional guide. We will go all over the main streets and squares of the city's historic center.


Day 2 — Tue, June 11

19:15-20:00, Reception by the Mayor at the Málaga City Hall

- Address: Avenida Cervantes 4, 29016 Málaga (See the map).

- The Mayor of our city (D. Francisco de la Torre) welcomes us in the Hall of Mirrors of the City Hall.


20:00-22:00, Banquet at the Kaleido Málaga Port

- Address: Palmeral de las Sorpresas, 2, 29015 Málaga (See the map).

Day 3 — Wed, June 12

16:00-19:00, Visit to the Cathedral and Alcazaba Palace

- Meeting point: Patio de los Naranjos (side of the Cathedral), Cister 2.

- Málaga Cathedral: one of the jewels of the Spanish Renaissance overlooks the sea. History, art and faith are manifested together in the Holy Church Cathedral Basilica of the Incarnation of Málaga. Its extensive history comes from the Great Mosque on which it was built. From there, its different construction stages and styles turn it into a majestic Renaissance-Baroque Cathedral with a Gothic vocation.

- The Alcazaba Palace is one of the most emblematic monuments of Málaga, and one of the visits that you cannot miss. Discover this amazing palace with its unconquerable fortress, beautiful gardens, intriguing history, hidden legends, and astonishing views.

20:00-21:30, Catamaran Experience (not free activity)

- Address: Pier 1 of the Málaga harbor. Puerto de Málaga, Muelle Uno, Paseo de la Farola, s/n (See the map).

- Before boarding, we will have a bite to eat at "La Canasta" at 19:15 (See the map).

- Sail out to sea on a relaxing catamaran cruise and enjoy the views of Málaga's dynamic coastline. A unique nautical experience is a catamaran ride at sunset to see the sunset and the skyline of the city of Málaga from the sea.
